A message from Lisa LaBrake, President of the Sweet Home Education Foundation:
To all our Friends and Supporters of SHEF –
As we reflect on the past year, our Sweet Home Education Foundation continued to assist hundreds of Sweet Home students and families in many ways. We are grateful for your support – whether it was through donating money, volunteering your time, or spearheading a fundraising or food drive! We are driven by our mission: “to enhance the educational experiences of students in the Sweet Home Central School District by providing financial support and other resources for enrichment in academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities, and community outreach”.
This year, we:
· Provided non-perishable food on the weekends to over 165 children every week, totaling over 8500 meals for the year
· Secured instruments and other music related items for 40 students
· Distributed 10 mini-grants to staff members which impacted hundreds of students pre-K through 12th grade
· Supported hundreds of athletes with continued assistance with athlete snacks and expanded the program to modified athletes at the Middle School
· Enhanced the Prom Dress Giveback Program to include more prom accessories and suits
· Launched a new program, Teen Professional Clothes Closet, for all high school students who are seeking professional clothes for situations involving work, home or school
· Received support from over 300 students and staff volunteering for events, food drives and fundraisers
· Linked with Amherst Rotary and Amherst Chamber of Commerce
· Co-hosted several family events with the Sweet Home Family Support Center and the Northwest Amherst Community Center
As we begin our 6th year, we are excited to continue to support and expand our programs for more students and families.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Lisa LaBrake

Embodying the Leader In Me Habits, our Middle School students & staff recently celebrated Leadership Day with a huge array of events focused on synergy. The day was in large part planned and executed by our student leaders. Events such as cooperative games, writing thank you cards to community organizations, escape room challenges, and Panther Pride assemblies allowed our Middle School students to focus on shared goals and work together to achieve results...all while having fun! Thank you to our student and staff leadership for planning such a successful event. #WeAreSweetHome #SPgoal1 #SPgoal2 #SPgoal3
