MS Artists Awarded at Local Competition
Our talented middle school artists recently showcased their creativity at the Student Art Competition held at Villa Maria College!
Students were challenged to think on their feet, bringing their own materials and transforming a surprise prompt into original works of art in just a couple hours.

We are proud to share that four of our students earned Judges Recognition Awards for their outstanding work - an incredible accomplishment in a competitive and inspiring environment!

Congratulations to all of our participating artists and to their teachers Ryan McCaffery and Kristen Noltee for representing Sweet Home so well! #WeAreSweetHome

Sweet Home Students Participate in Regional Challenge 2 Change
Students from across the Amherst area recently gathered for the impactful Challenge 2 Change summit, hosted at Daemen University. C2C is a day dedicated to student voice, connection, and collective problem-solving. Bringing together multiple school districts, the event created space for students to engage in thoughtful discussions, explore different perspectives, and work collaboratively on issues that matter to them and their peers.

Senior Jaevon Coleman captured the impact best:
“When we gather with other school districts, it gives us the chance to exchange ideas, share our experiences, and listen to the viewpoints of students from all over Amherst. Coming together fosters collaboration and strengthens the educational community beyond just my own district. It’s an incredibly valuable opportunity to learn from each other as we work towards a shared goal at these various stations that ultimately benefit all students.”

We also want to extend a special congratulations to sophomore Patience Richards, whose creativity was on full display as the designer of this year’s event t-shirt for all participants!

We are proud of our students for representing our school community and continuing to lead with empathy, respect, and a commitment to positive change. #WeAreSweetHome
